Package limn.transfer

@NullMarked package limn.transfer
What a copy or a drag carries. A Transfer offers one item in several formats at once (a table row as text, as HTML and as the application's own record), and whoever takes it reads the best one it understands from an Offer. The clipboard (limn.backend.Clipboard) is the first thing that carries one.
  • Class
    Description
    One representation of what is copied or dragged, and the Java type that holds it.
    A drag about to begin: what it carries, what may be done with it, and what the source wants to hear when it is over.
    What a drop does with what was dragged.
    What is there to take: the contents of the clipboard at one moment, or what a drag is carrying.
    One item, offered in several formats at once: what a copy puts on the clipboard and what a drag carries.
    What a read of an Offer fails with when the thing offered is no longer there: another program replaced the clipboard between the offer and the read, the offer never had that format, or the program that owned it left without handing it over.
