Enum Class AccessibleEvent.Type

java.lang.Object
java.lang.Enum<AccessibleEvent.Type>
limn.accessibility.AccessibleEvent.Type
All Implemented Interfaces:
Serializable, Comparable<AccessibleEvent.Type>, Constable
Enclosing class:
AccessibleEvent

public static enum AccessibleEvent.Type extends Enum<AccessibleEvent.Type>
What happened. Every constant here has a truthful mapping on at least one platform, and nothing is invented to fill a gap: two of them are deliberately answered by silence on platforms whose vocabulary has no equivalent.

A 1.x minor release may add constants to this enum: a switch over it needs a default branch.

  • Enum Constant Details

    • FOCUS_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type FOCUS_CHANGED
      The keyboard focus moved to this node.
    • ACTIVE_DESCENDANT_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type ACTIVE_DESCENDANT_CHANGED
      The focused node's cursor moved: one per publish, on the focused node, carrying the previous and current active descendant as AccessibleEvent.oldValue() and AccessibleEvent.newValue() — an identifier that may belong to another window's tree when the cursor resolves across a native popup's relation (AccessibleTree.holds(long) says which). Never raised on an unfocused container.
    • STRUCTURE_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type STRUCTURE_CHANGED
      This node's children changed: one per surviving parent per publish, carrying the children that were added under it (new in the tree, or moved here from another parent), removed from it (gone from the tree, or moved to another parent) and reordered among their surviving siblings, each with its index. A subtree that appears under a parent that is itself new is reported once, as one added child on the nearest surviving ancestor, and never per node inside it.
    • NAME_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type NAME_CHANGED
      This node's name changed.
    • DESCRIPTION_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type DESCRIPTION_CHANGED
      This node's description changed.
    • STATE_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type STATE_CHANGED
      One of this node's states changed; AccessibleEvent.state() says which.
    • VALUE_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type VALUE_CHANGED
      This node's value changed: its number, its displayed text, or whether it holds a number at all (ValueFacet.empty()). The event carries the two numbers; the text is read off the tree the event was handed with.
    • SELECTION_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type SELECTION_CHANGED
      What this container has selected changed: one per container per publish, carrying the members that entered and left its selection (AccessibleEvent.addedMembers(), AccessibleEvent.removedMembers()) and whether it selects more than one at once. The container is the member's selection container: the nearest ancestor with a SelectionFacet, climbed to from the member's published parent through synthetic ancestors only. A member that arrived selected in this publish and one that left the tree selected are counted too.
    • TEXT_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type TEXT_CHANGED
      This node's text changed; the offsets say where.
    • CARET_MOVED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type CARET_MOVED
      This node's caret moved.
    • TEXT_SELECTION_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type TEXT_SELECTION_CHANGED
      This node's text selection changed.
    • BOUNDS_CHANGED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type BOUNDS_CHANGED
      This node's box moved or resized.
    • NODE_DESTROYED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type NODE_DESTROYED
      This node has left the tree, and anything a client holds for it is now stale.
    • WINDOW_OPENED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type WINDOW_OPENED
      A window's tree became readable. Raised by a bridge as it takes its scene.
    • WINDOW_CLOSED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type WINDOW_CLOSED
      A window's tree is going away. Raised by a bridge as it lets its scene go.
    • WINDOW_ACTIVATED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type WINDOW_ACTIVATED
      This window took the desktop's focus.
    • WINDOW_DEACTIVATED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type WINDOW_DEACTIVATED
      This window lost it.
    • ANNOUNCEMENT

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type ANNOUNCEMENT
      The application said something; AccessibleEvent.politeness() says whether it interrupts.
    • INVOKED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type INVOKED
      An assistive technology pressed this node and the press succeeded. Not raised for a press the user made with a pointer, which leaves no difference between two trees to find.
    • INVALIDATED

      public static final AccessibleEvent.Type INVALIDATED
      Everything about this window may have changed. The event a bounded queue collapses to when a single difference is wider than it can carry; a bridge handling it reconciles whatever it holds against the tree it was last handed, rather than replaying anything. What follows it in the same publish is the reserved tail: the structure changes per parent, the final focus change, the cursor change, the selection changes per container and the window's activation, which are kept outside the budget so that a bridge that swept still hears where the user is.
  • Method Details

    • values

      public static AccessibleEvent.Type[] values()
      Returns an array containing the constants of this enum class, in the order they are declared.
      Returns:
      an array containing the constants of this enum class, in the order they are declared
    • valueOf

      public static AccessibleEvent.Type valueOf(String name)
      Returns the enum constant of this class with the specified name. The string must match exactly an identifier used to declare an enum constant in this class. (Extraneous whitespace characters are not permitted.)
      Parameters:
      name - the name of the enum constant to be returned.
      Returns:
      the enum constant with the specified name
      Throws:
      IllegalArgumentException - if this enum class has no constant with the specified name
      NullPointerException - if the argument is null
