Enum Class Change.Aspect

java.lang.Object
java.lang.Enum<Change.Aspect>
limn.scene.Change.Aspect
All Implemented Interfaces:
Serializable, Comparable<Change.Aspect>, Constable
Enclosing interface:
Change

public static enum Change.Aspect extends Enum<Change.Aspect>
What about the widget changed. Closed: a widget with a state outside this list has nothing a platform accessibility API can be told.

The list is in three parts, and the parts are not decoration — the accessor obligation applies to the first part only.

State aspects name something the widget still is after the notification, and a public accessor answers every one of them. Event aspects name something that happened and is over; nothing answers them, by construction, and the notification is the whole of the information — a watcher that missed one has missed it. LAYOUT is neither: it is one marker per layout pass, sourced at the scene's root, and what it says is re-read the bounds you hold.

A 1.x minor release may add constants to this enum, as OPACITY was added for the Opacity container and TRANSFORM for the Transform one: a switch over the aspects that names every one of them still needs a default branch, which is where an aspect added later arrives.

    Description
    The active descendant: the row a popup highlights, the cell a table focuses.
    Which widgets the tree holds under this one.
    A run of changes ended: a drag released, a value committed.
    The accessible description: a tooltip, a placeholder.
    Whether the widget takes input: its own flag (Widget.isSelfEnabled()) or the state that flag and its ancestors' make (Widget.isEnabled()).
    Open or closed: a combo box's popup, a menu bar's menu.
    Whether the widget holds focus: one on the widget losing it, one on the widget gaining it.
    Whether the widget can take focus.
    The widget was invoked: a button pressed, a row opened.
    A layout pass ran: re-read the bounds you hold.
    The widget's own label, the thing a reader speaks first.
    How opaque an Opacity container draws its child, Opacity.opacity(), announced on the container: a picture and nothing else, which no accessibility bridge reads.
    What the value may be: a minimum, a maximum, a step, an indeterminate flag.
    Which of the widget's children or rows are chosen.
    The widget's content was submitted: Enter in a search field.
    The text of an editable widget.
    Where a Transform container draws its child: its translation, its scale, its origin and the turn of a flip, announced on the container.

  • Enum Constant Details

    • VALUE

      public static final Change.Aspect VALUE
      The widget's own value: a slider's position, a checkbox's flag, a colour.
    • RANGE

      public static final Change.Aspect RANGE
      What the value may be: a minimum, a maximum, a step, an indeterminate flag.
    • SELECTION

      public static final Change.Aspect SELECTION
      Which of the widget's children or rows are chosen.
    • TEXT

      public static final Change.Aspect TEXT
      The text of an editable widget. Only ever a Change.TextEdit.
    • ACTIVE

      public static final Change.Aspect ACTIVE
      The active descendant: the row a popup highlights, the cell a table focuses.
    • EXPANDED

      public static final Change.Aspect EXPANDED
      Open or closed: a combo box's popup, a menu bar's menu.
    • NAME

      public static final Change.Aspect NAME
      The widget's own label, the thing a reader speaks first.
    • DESCRIPTION

      public static final Change.Aspect DESCRIPTION
      The accessible description: a tooltip, a placeholder.
    • VALIDITY

      public static final Change.Aspect VALIDITY
      Whether what the widget holds is valid, and the message that says why not.
    • ENABLED

      public static final Change.Aspect ENABLED
      Whether the widget takes input: its own flag (Widget.isSelfEnabled()) or the state that flag and its ancestors' make (Widget.isEnabled()). Announced on the widget whose flag setEnabled changed, then on every descendant whose isEnabled() changed with it, in tree order; never on a descendant whose state did not move, as one disabled by its own flag or under another disabled container.
    • VISIBLE

      public static final Change.Aspect VISIBLE
      Whether the widget is shown.
    • FOCUSABLE

      public static final Change.Aspect FOCUSABLE
      Whether the widget can take focus.
    • FOCUS

      public static final Change.Aspect FOCUS
      Whether the widget holds focus: one on the widget losing it, one on the widget gaining it.
    • CHILDREN

      public static final Change.Aspect CHILDREN
      Which widgets the tree holds under this one.
    • OPACITY

      public static final Change.Aspect OPACITY
      How opaque an Opacity container draws its child, Opacity.opacity(), announced on the container: a picture and nothing else, which no accessibility bridge reads. A setOpacity that changes the value announces it every time; a fadeTo announces only its start and its end.
    • TRANSFORM

      public static final Change.Aspect TRANSFORM
      Where a Transform container draws its child: its translation, its scale, its origin and the turn of a flip, announced on the container. A picture and the bounds published for it, with nothing laid out again. A direct set that changes a value announces it every time; a motion announces only its start and its end.
    • INVOKED

      public static final Change.Aspect INVOKED
      The widget was invoked: a button pressed, a row opened.
    • COMMITTED

      A run of changes ended: a drag released, a value committed.
    • SUBMITTED

      The widget's content was submitted: Enter in a search field.
    • LAYOUT

      public static final Change.Aspect LAYOUT
      A layout pass ran: re-read the bounds you hold. Sourced at the scene's root.
